Description

• Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
• Manage and monitor network, systems and services
• Ensure high availability of platforms that support business services.
• Draft and maintain service documentation and processes
• Introduce and integrate new technologies into existing data center environments
• Perform routine audits of systems and software
• Determine bottlenecks, enhance automation of repetitive tasks
• Provide 2nd/3rd level support for the server/systems infrastructure
• Work with other System Engineers to plan, design and improve services

Requirements

• 5+ years experience with Linux
• University Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar faculties.
• Willing to work oncall as necessary to meet organizational needs
• Solid understanding of IP networking.
• Strong scripting skills, Python is a plus
• Strong knowledge of storage technologies such as RAID, Logical Volume Manager, SAN etc.
• Must possess experience in installation, configuration and operation of company-wide services such as Apache/SSL, DHCP, DNS, NFS, sendmail etc.

• Experience with virtualization technologies (Xen, KVM)
• Experience with DB (mainly postgresql) administration
• Experience with Cloud deployment (mainly AWS/EC2)
• Structured approach towards development of processes and procedures
